On the lighter side of things, I’d like to write about something else. Just to keep my mind off things.
I haven’t really written anything about sports recently and it’s way past the start of the NBA playoffs. So here’s some takes on what’s in the running.
While it was a miracle that the Heat was able to climb back to the upper ranks in the regular season, it’s not a puzzle they got booted out early. A sweep by the Bulls was not too difficult to have imagined. The way Ben Gordon and Luol Deng were playing? Not a puzzle at all. It was good while it lasted. I bet D-Wade will be back with a vengeance by next season.
But the biggest news so far is the upset by the Warriors, beating the best team in the league and trashing hopes of Dirk Nowitzki’s MVP honors. I wasn’t able to watch the series to really feel the travesty in it. But I really felt that it was the time for the Mavs to shine. Oh well. You win some, you lose some. And for Dirk, he’s got to live with it and try for the next season. Just like the rest of them.
Things are pretty interesting in the Western Conference with the Suns and Spurs still in the running. Houston still has to slug it out with the Jazz in a Game 7. So I guess the favor swings the way of the Suns and Spurs.
Back East, I guess we’ll see some more exposure for Le Bron James. I think this is high time for the kid to shine just a bit more in the grand stage of basketball. It’s time for him to disprove his haters on his winner’s attitude.
Shame the Raptors lost but this just means that the Nets are trying to prove that they can still win it. They have to make the most out of this as this may yet to be the trickling chances for Jason Kidd and Vince Carter to set things on fire.
My final take so far? It’s interesting to see how the regular season’s not much of a picture of what to expect in the playoffs. I’ll be keeping an eye on LBJ.

Dude, Dirk will still be MVP. The voting was done during the last day of the regular season. What’s certain is that he’ll never win the award again.
I was at Galera during Game 6 and… *cries on his pillow*
T_T
Hehehe. Too bad for him. That’s got to be one of the greatest upsets in NBA history and Dirk’s there to take the fall. Tsk…
