The workspace defines the worker and vice-versa. So if all you have to work in is a shitty space with shitty stuff, chances are, you’d do shitty work. So as one of the splurges I made for my new place is to make one room into my own personal office. And it’s got everything I need (well, save for my proper DSL connection).
I’ve got a relatively huge desk. I used to work on just half of that space in our old house. What I love most about this set-up is the boss chair. I’ve been having problems with my lower back after spending a lot of time on a crappy chair so I indulged in something way better. I threw in a couple of bean bags there for good measure. Figured that if Bryan would drop by one of these days so that we’d be able to work on our big-bucks plan, we’d be able to plan and brainstorm in comfort.
So I’m joining the Boyet Fajardo meme. For those not yet in the know, please read this post over at Lagahit. For added spice, feel free to watch part of the incident caught on CCTV here:
Success does make one’s life story interesting. What one makes of that success, defines that story’s ending and that’s what most people remember. I remember our theater director (Ronan Capinding) back in high school reminding us that “You’re only as good as your last performance.” That piece of advice always kept me on my toes when it comes to decisions and actions.
One of the best things about having a premium theme is the support you get. This one that I’m using – WPUnlimited – just got an update with version 1.01 which features a few new features and some bug fixes.
I’d have to say this is the best theme I’ve used so far. For starters, it allows me to modify design elements without having to whip out my text editor and FTP and tweak lines and lines of code. Almost everything can be done through the theme’s options page.
Sure, some of the design features of WPUnlimited can also be had via theme generators but WPUnlimited also has other very powerful features like SEO and advertising that add to the beauty of the theme. In fact, my traffic from search engines on this blog has increased 50%!
If you want to get the theme, click on the link I have on the sidebar.
I’ve had the unpleasant business of calling up call centers regarding two of my accounts – one’s with a bank and the other, about a subscribed service. I never really thought about it much before but call center agents have quite the access to our personal information.
For example, with the bank – all you need is to provide them with your name and account details and they can pull out your record and see everything pertinent about the account – all the personal information on the application sheet, your credit, your transaction history, etc… Heck even food delivery services have quite the database on them, right. Just give the guy your phone number and everything else is logged – name, address, landmarks, and even a brief physical description of it.
With the rise of identity theft nowadays, how safe is our information at the hands of these call center agents? What does it take to get access to accounts anyway? An answer to a security check simple question like “What’s you mother’s maiden name”? If these agents have such an easy access to our data, it’s just a matter of time when some enterprising bastard does something with them and gets away it.
I just wonder what measures companies are taking to protect out information.
