Roco wants ICT in education
And Raul Roco’s widow boldly declares her advocacy. What she’s calling for is a no brainer and has really been the consensus of educators across the country. The problem is that even private institutions are finding it difficult to get funding for infrastructure. And it’s almost useless to teach ICT without computer labs.
But Sonia Roco recognizes this and suggests community participation. Does that mean reliance on private entities? I’m one who is always reluctant to always involve private entities in government business. I believe that Chiz aims to address these education woes better – allot larger state subsidies to education.
And check out her S.O.N.I.A. platform – Study-now-pay-later Occupancy Networking of schools and the community Information highway usage Advocacy.
Again, I’d blast her for her study-now-pay-later mentality. Isn’t free education (up to the tertiary level) a better alternative? It’s quite irritating to hear that “pay later” from an educator. Why not redub her S to State Subsidy for Students? (Oh yeah, I’m a spin doctor, all right!)
And with today’s increasingly intuitive computing, I think the focus for any ICT education program should have are trained teachers to handle classes and fully-functional computer labs. Instruction and infrastructure will lead the way for a top-notch ICT academic program.

Wow! Sonia Roco’s kilometric acronym is sooo catchy and easy to remember.
Escudero wants to remove Algebra and other math subjects from the high school curriculum. ‘Nuff said. hehe

Haha. Having taken a course with only 3 units of Math, Chiz does have me caring less.
Come to think of it, our high school gave our class one hell of a time with our Math. So Chiz’s decision now makes me want to vote for him more.
But knowing all that Math really prepares you somehow. Who would have thought that I got to use them again in messing with 3D graphics?
Anyway, we just really need to revisit our education system.
