Chiz Escudero is “cheesy”

Chiz Escudero's 'cheesy' pose

Following up on a steadily-growing number of posts on the elections. I can’t seem to help it after suffering three months on election discourse a couple of years ago. I’m still traumatized I guess.

Anyway, the Web as a campaign platform is pretty much a route to venture for th younger politicians. And Chiz Escudero is definitely one of them. Chiz is really banking on the younger Filipino voters for support. Just check out the people giving his testimonials on his Friendster account. And one way he can really explore the Web is through social networks and video sharing sites. I won’t be surprised if (due to Abe’s post), Chiz (or Mr. Escudero?) will be filling in his maximum number of “friends.” Not to mention video clips on YouTube.

Anway, here’s a clipping from Abe’s post on PTB:

It didn’t really crossed my mind, but a recent story from GMA News mentioned the use of Friendster as one of the internet marketing tools used by senatorial candidates Chiz Escudero and Lieutenant Antonio Trillanes IV. (Just look at how cheesy Chiz’s Friester [sic] account is!).

In any case, just look at his site and I bet you’d think he’s also in the running for most fashion conscious candidate ever. Hehehe. No offense to Mr. Escudero as I admire his open-mindedness in venturing the Web as one of his campaign vehicles.

Well, what will be done will be done, but I hope campaigns via Web will lead to more informed voters.

Cheesy indeed, but he is utilizing every venue to get his message out. Will it work? I honestly don’t think so. But as they say, every vote counts.
